I hope you all have a great Valentine's Day!  I have a new project I will be adding to my "Teach Me" blog in the next week.  I know most of what Susan's Craft Corner presently displays clay jewelry and clay gifts but, I enjoy all kinds of crafts.  That is why I named it Susan's Craft Corner and not a name that targeted clay jewelry.  So I am presenting a new technique that I learned last year and had so much fun with it. 

Iris Folding.  It was believed to be created in china and the main goal was to recycle used envelopes into this increditable art.  The art of Iris folding has now adapted several materials to be recycled such as ribbon, material, paper scaps and more.  Iris fold is created by using a special grid pattern to create the layer look or rather a three demension  look.  Awesome! 

I found some great websites that offer free patterns that are GREAT!   Below you will find patterns that you will need to create an iris design.  These are examples.

Go to that site to be able to copy and print.  The above patterns are hard to see I just wanted you to see the patterns.  Iris folding is a way of arranging the recycle product of your choice in this special arrangment.  I will give you full instructions in my "Teach Me" Blog.  I am so excited.  There are so many things you can use Iris folding for such as scrapbooking, greeting cards, wall art, and more.  It is unique, fun and easy!
